What is project management?

Projects are temporary endeavors to create a product or service.  They are a an undertaking by an organization with a specific time frame in mind and with limited cost, resources and manpower. Projects go through various stages and is overlooked by the project manager.  The science behind the effecient management of a project, taking into account the phases of planning, execution and control is known as project management.  There are many tools and techniques that are specifically realated to project management and are a project manager's safest bet for a successful project delvery.
